Larry S. Candido

Managing Director

Larry Candido brings more than 28 years of experience in banking, real estate, securities and technology to Sitrick Brincko Group and an impressive record of success in working out troubled loans, managing distressed collateral and guiding companies through critical organizational, restructuring and turnaround situations.

Larry served as a Managing Director on the executive management team that established the U.S. business platform of Eurohypo AG, one of the world’s largest real estate finance institutions. During his six years at Eurohypo, in addition to developing the U.S. lending business, he managed the establishment of Eurohypo’s U.S. securities broker-dealer, specialized capital funding subsidiaries, and special purpose transactional entities. Additionally, he managed the restructuring of Eurohypo’s U.S. treasury, derivatives, and portfolio investment operations, the wind down of Eurohypo’s asset-backed commercial paper program, and the integration of Eurohypo’s U.S. securities broker-dealer into Commerzbank AG’s U.S. securities broker-dealer, in connection with the acquisition of Eurohypo by Commerzbank.

He also served for 10 years as senior vice president for HSBC US Group and Midland Bank plc, which HSBC acquired in 1992. There, Larry served as an officer and Board member of one of the first “bad bank” entities (Bracton Corporation) and various other loan workout/asset recovery companies that managed a substantial portfolio of troubled loans and distressed collateral, including operating companies that were restructured and ultimately sold. At HSBC/Midland, he worked on numerous restructurings, both within and outside of bankruptcy, that involved such companies as Lee Panavision (movie camera and filters manufacturer), General Development Corporation (publicly-held real estate developer), Laura Ashley (clothing/home furnishings retailer), and a variety of real estate companies, including two hotel properties in Orlando, Florida.

Larry began his professional career in 1982 as an attorney with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, principally focused on litigation and loan workouts. Most recently he served as Consultant in the Legal & Regulatory Services Practice for Resources Global Professionals, the operating arm of Resources Connection, Inc.

Larry holds an MBA from The Wharton School; his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law and graduated summa cum laude with a BA from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He is a member of the New York State Bar and has held both a Series 7 and Series 63 broker license.
